As a Muslim woman I have to say this: What were they thinking?
I admit it, I went into the water before in full hijab (scarf, tunic, and pants). It was easy to swim in but hard to get out the water with. I felt as if weights were put onto me.
However, it’s a good thing I had friends with private beaches/swimming pools that my husband and I used for a couple of weekends. That way I could have worn normal bikini swimsuits within being watched by other men.
The Muslimah in the picture would have to get out of the water by herself because her husband would have to wait on the beach with a towel. Her outfit would stick to her body and men would see her form. Which would make it pointless to go into the waters covered in the first place.
